What the role involves You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning in a way that works for them. That might look like: creating a calm, structured space for pupils who need routine supporting communication through visuals, prompts, and modelling helping pupils regulate during tricky moments celebrating progress, even when it’s tiny building trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe What the school hopes you’ll bring They’re looking for someone who is patient, curious, and willing to learn. Experience with SEND is helpful, but the right attitude is even more important. If you’ve worked in care, youth work, mentoring, or any role supporting people with additional needs, you’ll have lots of transferable skills.
