Role-Head of Finance Transformation
Hybrid-Birmingham or Gloucestershire FTC 12 months may be extended
Overview
We are looking for a Head of Finance Transformation to lead and represent Finance across a portfolio of high-impact strategic programmes. This role will play a critical part in delivering successful transformation across key initiatives, including:
1. IFS implementation (finance and billing processes)
2. Integration of Mitie Compliance into the wider Marlowe Environmental Services (MES) business
3. Legal entity reduction
4. SAP implementation and replacement of Sage and Xero systems
You will work closely with core Finance teams to ensure smooth month-end processes, maintaining accuracy in invoicing and financial reporting throughout periods of transition.
As the business continues to grow, the programme portfolio will evolve, including further integrations and acquisitions. You will be seen as the key Finance lead across transformation projects, driving quality, consistency and improved financial outcomes across the MES group.
Key Responsibilities
5. Lead programme governance across multiple workstreams, managing dependencies, risks, issues and stakeholder communications
6. Drive and deliver the Legal Entity Reduction programme to simplify structures and improve operational efficiency
7. Lead the integration of Mitie Compliance Services (MCS) Finance into MES
8. Oversee the successful implementation of SAP across MES and wider teams
9. Ensure processes are clearly designed, documented and embedded
10. Develop and implement policies that provide clarity and direction
11. Support and engage Finance teams through change, ensuring strong communication and motivation
12. Work closely with outsourced Finance teams and SAP integration partners to ensure successful delivery
13. Monitor performance, identify issues and implement corrective actions
14. Report on key metrics, progress and continuous improvements
15. Prepare and review standard operating procedures for financial processes
16. Identify and deliver efficiencies across finance and billing operations
17. Establish robust UAT frameworks and ensure effective end-to-end training
18. Review financial performance reporting and refine operations to align with business goals
19. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and standard operating procedures
What We're Looking For
20. Proven experience in a similar finance transformation or programme role
21. Proven experience leading major finance system implementations (ideally SAP or equivalent)
22. Demonstrated ability to drive change and improve team performance
23. Strong process mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo
24. Experience implementing new procedures and scalable processes
25. Ability to manage and influence diverse teams and stakeholders
26. Solid understanding of financial transactions and their impact on month-end reporting
