Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced
Senior HR Advisor
to join our Nottingham-based team. This is a
generalist role
covering the full breadth of People team activities, including colleague relations, recruitment, performance management, learning & development, and People projects. You'll play a key role in supporting our people strategy and driving continuous improvement across the colleague lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day People support and guidance to managers and colleagues across all departments
* Manage colleague relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management
* Support recruitment activities including job design, interviewing, and onboarding
* Lead and contribute to People projects (e.g., wellbeing, engagement, DEI, policy reviews)
* Support performance management and development conversations
* Maintain and update People systems and ensure data accuracy
* Assist with compensation and benefits queries and annual review processes
* Collaborate with the wider People team on initiatives that enhance colleague experience
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a generalist HR/People role (ideally within a fast-paced or scientific/technical environment)
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR/People best practices
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
* Experience handling ER cases and supporting managers confidently
* Comfortable working with People systems and data
* CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred
