 
        
        Youth Practitioner – Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service
Overview
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are seeking applications from individuals for a permanent position for the role of Youth Practitioner within the Community Safety Department based at Aberystwyth Hub.
Responsibilities
 * Engage with young people and deliver youth development initiatives, using trauma‐informed practices where appropriate.
 * Demonstrate effective delivery to audiences, with strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt delivery style to the needs of the audience.
 * Introduce and deliver high‑quality resources for young people, showing creativity and a proactive approach to skill development.
 * Manage own workload, meet set timescales, and maintain attention to detail.
 * Demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness, and cultural inclusion in line with the service’s core values.
Qualifications
 * NVQ Level 3 / Diploma or equivalent, with a good understanding of youth development schemes and practices.
 * Ability to speak and engage effectively in front of an audience.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt delivery style as required.
 * Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; willingness to develop IT skills through training and development opportunities.
Notes
You will be a creative thinker, pay attention to detail, and be willing to explore new ideas for delivering youth schemes. You will keep abreast of MAWWFRS’s organisational aims and any developments to youth initiatives and relevant governmental legislation.
