Job Description
Job purpose:
Work closely with an integrated supply chain / procurement team and coordinate all supply chain engagement, including our key customers and suppliers, to maximize customer service and operational performance.
Key Duties
1. Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
2. Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues that may pose a risk or impact business operations.
3. Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
4. Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
5. Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as required.
6. Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
7. Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, and support continuous improvement.
8. Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers, reviewing opportunities for savings using best practice tools and methods.
9. Assess and evaluate suppliers, undertake performance reviews, and manage performance improvement activities.
10. Maintain a professional and consistent approach in all supplier relationships.
Essential Criteria
* Experience working in a Procurement team at a supervisory level, preferably within heavy industries, marine, manufacturing, or construction environments.
* Relevant Business, Manufacturing, or Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience with Equipment Major sub-contracts.
* CIPS Qualifications or working towards them.
* Knowledge of different types of contracts and legal backgrounds.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Previous experience with ERP systems.
* Knowledge of the local Supply Chain.
* Experience handling the Supplier Non-Conformance process.
