We're seeking a skilled Senior Maintenance Support Engineer to take ownership of critical manufacturing equipment performance and drive technical improvements across our production facility. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal equipment performance whilst supporting shift engineers with complex technical challenges.
The Role:
Troubleshoot & Resolve - Lead electrical and communication system fault-finding on advanced manufacturing equipment, working across diverse process machines and control systems
Drive Improvements - Analyse performance data to identify reliability issues and implement strategic upgrades to boost equipment performance and minimise downtime
Mentor & Develop - Train and develop engineering staff in advanced fault-finding techniques for communications systems, building internal capability and expertise
Technical Leadership - Develop effective external support networks and lead projects to minimise the impact of equipment obsolescence through redesign and proactive maintenance strategies
Communication & Safety - Maintain detailed engineering logs, conduct thorough shift handovers, and ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols in a regulated environment
What You Need:
Essential Qualifications:
HNC in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (minimum qualification)
3+ years hands-on electrical engineering experience in manufacturing environments
Proven electrical maintenance experience on production machinery
Strong experience with PLC programming and machine communications systems
Profibus/Profinet systems experience essential
Preferred Experience:
Siemens equipment knowledge highly desirable
Bespoke machine design and build experience
Root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities
Experience working in regulated environments (ISO13485 knowledge valued)
Electrical/electronics circuit design background
