We are seeking a 12-month FTC Compliance Manager within our European Shared Service department, based in Wantage, UK. The role is to ensure all SSC departments adhere to company policies and standards, with a focus on Sarbanes Oxley controls. You will identify and assess risks, develop remediation plans, and implement a robust control and compliance framework to protect and safeguard compliance thresholds.
Main Responsibilities
1. Review SOX control evidence for completeness and compliance.
2. Organise the collection and custody of control evidence for SOX audits.
3. Manage SOX audits and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance.
4. Coordinate the audit process with divisional internal and external auditors, including PWC.
5. Review and standardise controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Maintain communication, feedback, and reports to SSC management on control effectiveness.
7. Detect ethical violations and compliance issues proactively, implementing remediation plans.
8. Communicate governance changes to all relevant parties within Shared Services and associated businesses.
9. Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the SSC Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
* Recognised qualification in Quality Systems, Finance, or Business Administration.
* Previous audit experience with PWC or within the Big Four.
* Experience in a Governance or Compliance role.
* Experience with ERP systems.
* Effective communication skills at all organisational levels.
* Problem-solving skills and computer literacy, with an interest in finance systems.
* Highly organised, deadline-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to work independently and demonstrate diligence.
Beneficial but Not Essential
* Part or fully qualified ACCA/ACMA.
* Degree in Finance or Business Administration.
* Experience in a shared services environment.
* Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley and ISO 9000 standards.
* Experience with Quality systems.
* Ambition and potential for growth within the organisation.
* Proficiency in a second European language.
