The team…
Governor Support are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and articulate person to join their busy team, which provides high quality clerking, support and advice to school governing bodies and academy trust boards.
About the role….
You will be required to produce draft agendas and agendas, attend governing body and committee meetings (mainly in the evening) and occasional exclusion and complaint meetings. You provide advice, write up draft minutes within 15-20 working days, and carry out follow-up actions. The successful applicant will advise on governance regulations before, during and after meetings, and will maintain professional working relationships with the chair, the board and school leaders.
The role is term-time only, and you must be willing to work unsocial hours on a regular basis. You must have a relevant clerking qualification (or a commitment to obtain one within twelve months of employment), a good standard of education and relevant transferable experience. This should include a high level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills, a high level of written and verbal communication, minute taking and report writing, planning and organisational skills, people and relationship building skills, advisory and problem solving skills, and time management skills to meet deadlines and competing demands. You should also have knowledge of the schools system, governance legislation and effective governance.
You must hold a current driving license and have access to a car or means to mobility support.
