Overview
Please note: This is a hybrid role in our Liverpool office (ideally 2-3 per week), with flexibility.
Role overview: This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner DZConneX (Yoh Services). The anticipated duration of this engagement is 18 months.
We are looking for a Senior Build Services Engineer who will be responsible for creating service strategies, and driving process optimization. You will be partnering with Studios and PSS QA Engineering Services to understand and recommend optimal service solutions for titles.
What you’ll be doing
* Technical mentoring: mentoring the team on technical aspects of service, and related best practices.
* Project optimization: utilizing appropriate metrics to recommend improvements or changes to active services.
* Project engagement: provide timely, relevant customer-facing reporting to and communication with title build stakeholders.
* Vendor management: onboarding vendors, conducting and maintaining relevant training plans and assigning work packages.
* Service metrics: assisting in the maintenance and advancement of reporting and metrics gathering processes.
* Documentation: keeping all relevant service and process documentation updated.
* Customer support: providing customer support for all aspects of service via Jira Service Desk, in conjunction with support from ALM.
* Implementation of build pipelines: implementing agreed game build creation pipelines for titles.
* Monitoring build pipelines: monitoring and troubleshooting of the game build pipeline creation phase for projects.
What we are looking for
* 3+ years working in an industry build engineering role.
* Ability to effectively articulate complex ideas and concepts to individuals with differing backgrounds and varying degrees of technical experience.
* 1+ years working in an industry build engineering role.
* Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve relevant hardware and software issues.
* Experience managing Cloud infrastructure and with DevOps concepts such as containerization, virtualization, networking, etc.
* Experience with Perforce, GIT, or equivalent SCM tools.
* Experience with Jenkins, TeamCity or equivalent CI/CD tools.
* Experience with PowerShell, Batch, Bash, or equivalent terminal language.
* Experience with Python, Groovy, C#, C++ or equivalent language.
* Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
* Experience with development methodologies – Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.
* 25 days holiday per year
