Join Tusk as Head of Finance and guide a high-performing team at the heart of global conservation.Tusk has been supporting forward-thinking and successful conservation work in Africa since 1990. Together with our project partners, we are tackling the evolving threats to Africa's biodiversity and affected communities, supporting organisations to protect endangered species, promote human-wildlife coexistence, find sustainable solutions to maintain critical habitats, and provide engaging and impactful conservation education programmes.Tusk champions community-driven wildlife conservation and a partnership approach. We partner with leading and emerging conservationists across Africa and secure donor funding to invest in grassroots conservation organisations with the highest impact potential. Our work encourages and bolsters local African leadership, increases the profile of organisations and their personnel, and maximises conservation impact.The JobJoin Tusk, as the Head of Finance and play a pivotal role in safeguarding Africa's wildlife and supporting frontline conservation efforts. We're seeking a strategic, hands-on finance leader to oversee all aspects of Tusk's financial operations. Reporting directly to the COO and working closely with the Board of Trustees, you'll lead a dedicated finance team and be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.Key Responsibilities:
* Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
* Manage audits, statutory compliance, and multi-currency grant distribution
* Support fundraising and donor engagement with financial insight
* Oversee payroll, pensions, and financial systems
* Ensure robust financial governance and risk management
About youWe're seeking a dynamic and strategic finance professional with a recognised professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and a strong track record in senior financial management. Experience in the charity sector is ideal, but we also welcome commercially trained professionals who can quickly adapt to the nuances of SORP and charity finance.You'll be an inspiring team leader with a collaborative mindset, capable of guiding a small, high-performing finance team. Your commercial acumen and ability to navigate complex, cross-border financial environments will be key to your success.You'll also bring:
