How We Hire
Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It's your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you're part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.
About the role
This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.
Summary
Join an award-winning in-house creative team at the heart of M&S Food's marketing-led transformation. Since 2019, this studio has been the driving force behind every M&S Food advert—work that helped secure Campaign's In-House Agency of the Year.
As a Food Junior Creative, you'll help generate standout ideas across TV, OOH, Press, and Social, shaping work that is both strategically sharp and tonally true to the M&S Food brand.
We're looking for someone curious, conceptual, and collaborative—someone who can solve problems creatively, write with clarity and personality, and bring artistic ideas to life. Ideally, you'll bring around three years' experience in a creative advertising agency and a genuine passion for great food storytelling.
All the details
We're reshaping our Food business to broaden its appeal, protecting the magic our customers love while modernising everything else. That means outstanding quality, high sourcing standards, and market-leading innovation remain at our core, while we transform our supply chains, improve our stores, and deliver better value.
We're looking for motivated people ready to bring their whole self to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious team. After all, this isn't just food… this is M&S Food.
Creative – M&S Food
This is more than just an in-house agency; since 2019, it has been central to a 'Marketing-led turnaround' at M&S Food. The team has developed and delivered every advert for the brand in the past five years. This effort recently led to M&S Food receiving Campaign's In-House Agency of the Year award.
You'll be responsible for generating ideas across multiple channels (TV, Out of Home, Press & Social) that strategically and tonally represent the M&S Food brand.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, writing ability, experience inventing and leading artistic concepts, and have at least 3 years in a creative advertising agency.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office at least three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

Who you are
* Someone who can appreciate a brief with a few weeks to crack as much as one that may only have a few hours.
* The ability to write scripts, headlines, and body copy, with an appreciation for building and art direction.
* A strategic problem solver who loves crafting the detail but also knows when speed is what matters, aligning short-term tactical campaigns (trade driving) with long-term strategic goals (brand-building).
* Passionate about the wider creative industry, bringing new ideas and tools into the business to innovate the work.
* Excited and driven by producing world-class advertising campaigns.
* Proficient enough in creative software like Photoshop and InDesign to bring rough concepts to life.
