Associate Scientist - Contract - Cambridge, MA

Proclinical is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join the Process Sciences group, supporting the process development to incorporate novel chemistries into our manufacturing platform for siRNA therapeutics. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career scientist looking to gain hands-on experience in processing, manufacturing, and process development of oligonucleotide therapeutics within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with senior scientists and engineers to execute laboratory operations, collect and document data, and support process optimization and technology transfer activities.
Skills & Requirements:
1. BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
2. 0-2 years of laboratory experience (academic, co-op, internship, or industrial experience acceptable).
3. Oligonucleotide experience required.
4. Experience with Bioconjugation, antibodies, and peptides highly preferred.
5. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as pH, conductivity, HPLC, or LC-MS is preferred.
6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality laboratory documentation
7. Willingness to learn regulated laboratory practices and manufacturing workflows
8. Ability to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and manage time effectively
9. Microsoft Office Suite experience.
The Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:
10. Support process development, optimization, and scale-up of bioconjugation processes.
11. Support oligonucleotide synthesis method development, optimization and scale-up
12. Execute laboratory-scale processes to support research and in-house material needs
13. Perform routine in-process analytical tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, UV, basic chromatography)
14. Assist in process development for novel chemistries
15. Operate laboratory and analytical equipment after appropriate training
16. Accurately document experimental work following good documentation practices (GDP)
17. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Process Development, Analytical Sciences, and Manufacturing
18. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
