To support the operational delivery by ensuring depots, plant & vehicles are compliant, fit for purpose and utilised efficiently. What you'll be doing As a Depot & Fleet Manager, you will have the following responsibilities: Development and management of a multiyear depot repair & maintenance programme, working closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure priorities are understood and budgets available Develop and manage a contract wide plant & fleet replacement strategy to inform long term investment requirements and support the Balfour Beattys carbon reduction plan Directly manage work undertaken on the depot or vehicles ensuring suitable risk assessment and method statements are in place and teams are set to work safely. Work closely with the wider Operations team to ensure driver and plant operator training & development needs is understood and delivered. Wherever possible utilise the Operator Skills Hub to ensure Herefordshire staff obtain industry leading skills Work closely with the health, safety, environment & sustainability (HSES) teams to ensure documented plans are in place and depots remain safe and compliant to required standards Provide direction through the line management of the transport officer, stores supervisor, plant engineer and yard operatives Who we're looking for You will have the following: Proven experience of managing a teams SMSTS or similar Detailed knowledge of driver hours and CPC requirements Previous experience of managing a fleet of vehicles Experience of working within an Operational environment Ability to work under pressure Great organisational skills Excellent communication skills.
