About The Role
We are looking to recruit Lead Rough Sleepers Outreach Workers to join our award-winning outreach team, to provide housing and support solutions to some of the most complex and vulnerable people in the city. The role involves supporting clients who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping on the streets of Birmingham. The role is fixed-term, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday–Sunday, with two shifts (23:00–06:30 and 06:00–14:00).
What You’ll Be Doing
The role will involve undertaking extensive foot and vehicle outreach in all weathers through the whole of Birmingham. The role will require working professionally with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
Who We’re Looking For
* Must be a car driver and willing to drive outreach vehicles
* To apply for this role, you must understand the issues, causes, and solutions to rough sleeping
* It is desirable that you will have wide-ranging experience of working with single homeless people with differing levels of support needs and an understanding of resettlement pathways to reduce rough sleeping
* You will be motivated by the desire to make a real impact on individuals and communities and able to work on your own initiative across many locations
