A well-established 4-star hotel in Falmouth is seeking a calm, capable Senior Chef to join its small, flexible brigade. This is a hands‑on role offering real ownership, autonomy, and responsibility within a professional but low‑politics kitchen environment.
The Role
* Lead prep and production for 2–3 on‑site functions per week (approx. 20 covers)
* Plan weekly preparation around the function diary and breakfast cover
* Run functions from prep through service
* Cost event menus to agreed GP margins
* Cover breakfast service when required
* Maintain food safety, HACCP, allergen controls, and compliance standards
* Support ordering, stock control and waste management
The Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrates strong organisational and prep leadership skills
* Has experience running small to mid‑size functions
* Is confident managing allergens and food safety systems
* Remains calm under pressure with a solutions‑focused mindset
* Works well within a small team and values autonomy
