Project Engineer Job Description
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for career progression and professional development.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are met.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications, liaising with design engineers for alternatives or variations as needed.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions are available for fabrication or assembly.
5. Conduct regular visits to subcontractors' premises to coordinate and review production.
6. Work with the design team to ensure specifications are met and quality checks are performed prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are documented, and snags are cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities, including surveys, haulage, health & safety documentation, lifting equipment, labor, commissioning, testing, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, and monitor projects, following document control processes.
10. Communicate with clients and project participants to interpret needs and present solutions or options.
11. Manage contracts, including producing and responding to compensation events, early warning notices, and quotes.
Candidate Requirements:
* Engineering qualification with relevant experience in a related discipline.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel across the UK for projects.
