Health and Safety Manager

The Company: With the company's success continuing to grow steadily, they are looking to expand the workforce on site to maintain production levels. They are a market leader within the energy-to-waste process industry and are looking forward to another successful year.
The business has shown consistent growth and is constantly developing new systems to maintain their competitive advantage. The successful Health and Safety Manager will receive support and development to achieve and maintain excellent standards.
The Role:
Develop, maintain, and monitor local EHS & Fire policies, systems, and procedures to meet legislative and operational requirements.
Ensure departmental risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and fire inspections are conducted and followed up with corrective actions.
Assess and manage environmental, health, and safety hazards effectively (e.g., COSHH, Noise, Emissions).
Provide EHS & Fire training and toolbox talks for all employees.
Advise management on current and upcoming EHS and Fire legislation and set internal standards for compliance.
Identify and report gaps in legal compliance and areas for improvement.
Develop and audit EHS and Fire standards, good practices, and provide relevant reports.
Maintain EHS Manuals, processes, procedures, records, and certifications (ISO45001, ISO14001, PEFC).
Maintain the site fire safety plan and fire logbook.
Investigate incidents thoroughly and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Monitor progress on Health, Safety & Environmental Action Plans, and produce reports for management.
Set EHS and Fire safety objectives aligned with site goals.
Build and maintain environmental testing protocols in anticipation of future regulations.
Requirements:
Health and Safety Management experience
Experience within industrial manufacturing, especially heavy industry or energy from waste
NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
Understanding of LOLER and RAMS
Proven experience as HSQE Manager in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience in driving change and improvements
