Field Service Engineer – Colchester / Essex and surrounding region
£40k basic + car + call out rota up to £7,500 + bonus + exceptional benefits package. Our globally renowned client has been established for 60 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and support of bespoke in vitro diagnostic solutions for supply throughout the world. We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to provide the highest levels of technical customer service and satisfaction in the Installation, Service, Repair and Technical Support of a range of automated laboratory equipment in the Clinical and Industrial markets in the Colchester / Chelmsford / Essex region of the UK.
As part of the role, you will undertake Installation, Planned Preventative Service, Reactive Repair and Technical Support activities in various customer-facing environments, including hospitals and laboratories, and with blue-chip FMCG clients. You will manage vehicle stock inventory efficiently and ensure activities are completed on time with accurate documentation submitted as required by the engineering and service department.
In addition to initial in-house training, you will attend training courses as needed to gain or maintain knowledge, and stay up to date with developments in the industry to ensure high levels of service and support for customers and stakeholders.
You may also assist with project work to meet deadlines and provide customer on-call support as part of the Service Team rota. You will ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and applicable regulations (including Health & Safety at Work) and follow SSOW on site at all times.
Responsibilities
* Install, service, repair and provide technical support for a range of automated laboratory equipment for clinical and industrial markets.
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive repairs; manage customer-facing tasks and documentation.
* Coordinate and manage vehicle stock inventory within guidelines; ensure timely completion of activities and proper reporting.
* Attend training courses to gain/maintain knowledge and keep up to date with industry developments.
* Assist with project work when required to meet deadlines; provide on-call support as part of the Service Team rota.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable legislation (including Health & Safety) and follow Safe Systems of Work on site.
Qualifications
* Essential: Full UK driving licence.
* Qualification to at least ONC level or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
* 3+ years of experience in a comparable service or maintenance environment; laboratory or medical equipment experience is advantageous.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills at all levels.
