Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) – Full-Time Role

Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term Time)
Start Date: Immediate
Do you have a passion for supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and helping them thrive in education? We are seeking a dedicated Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to work with pupils who need additional emotional and social support, including those who have experienced trauma or are adjusting to new environments.
What we’re looking for:
* ELSA Training or Relevant Experience: Understanding of emotional literacy strategies and interventions.
* Safeguarding Knowledge: Active awareness and proactive implementation of safeguarding practices.
* Communication Skills: Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
* Qualifications: Previous experience in education or relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training).
* Availability: Full-time, during standard school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
* Commitment: A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
Your role will include:
* Delivering 1:1 and small group emotional literacy sessions.
* Supporting pupils with social and emotional challenges to improve engagement and wellbeing.
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create a nurturing environment.
* Maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress.
* Proactively safeguarding all pupils and promoting a safe, inclusive school culture.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
