Shift: Days (with on-call rota, 1 week in 5)
About the role:
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern, fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and efficiency are paramount.
As part of the maintenance team, you will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role includes participation in an on-call rota (1 week in every 5) to provide out-of-hours support for maintenance and site issues.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant equipment.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production disruption.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental standards.
* Support continuous improvement projects and implement modifications to optimise performance.
* Maintain accurate records using the site's PPM system.
* Participate in the on-call rota as required.
About you
* Recognised engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent) with strong electrical skills.
* Mechanical knowledge and experience in areas outside formal qualifications.
* Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
* Proficient in Microsoft applications and familiar with PPM systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
