At Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, we’re on a mission to create a wilder Derbyshire by 2030—and people are at the heart of that vision. Our Green Skills training programme will empower young people with the tools, confidence, and knowledge to lead nature’s recovery in their own communities. As our training offer grows, we’re looking for a passionate and proactive Training Assistant to help shape and deliver inspiring, hands-on learning experiences. In this role, you’ll empower young people to act for nature—teaching them how to care for local green spaces, lead their own environmental projects, and build practical skills that benefit both people and wildlife. Leading hands-on conservation or habitat management activities. Working with teenagers or young adults Creating and following risk assessments and upholding safeguarding standards The use of a range of hand tools Effective and engaging communication with a wide range of audiences Willingness to work weekends We are happy to talk flexible working! This role will be based at our office in Middleton although a balance of home and office working will be allowed. We are a local charity so applicants should be easily able to access our office and other locations around the county.
