Tasks
* Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in complex litigation cases, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to effectively support clients' positions in court.
* Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and anticipate potential outcomes.
* Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather evidence and build strong cases for trial.
* Present cases in court, articulating arguments clearly and persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
* Qualified barrister with minimum 5 years PQE (England & Wales)
* Proven track record in criminal advocacy with substantial court experience
* Demonstrable expertise in private prosecution work
* Experience with fraud, regulatory offences, or serious crime
* Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
* Strong analytical ability to absorb and synthesise complex factual and legal material
* Knowledge of disclosure obligations and criminal procedure
* Ability to provide strategic, commercially-minded advice to clients
* Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to handle pressure, tight deadlines, and multiple matters simultaneously.
Desirable Experience
* Former CPS Grade 4 prosecutor or Treasury Counsel experience
* Experience with high-value financial crime, IP offences, or regulatory matters
* Direct Access qualification
* Experience in civil fraud or asset recovery
* International or cross-border prosecution experience
* Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
