Role: Admin and Prescriptions Clerk
Responsible to: Deputy Practice Manager
Hours: 25 hours per week
Site: Whaddon Medical Centre (MK3 7QU) and Water Eaton Health Centre (MK2 3HN)
Salary: Dependant on experience
Job Summary
Responsible for delivering a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to support the prescriptions team and wider clinical staff. Key responsibilities include the accurate and timely processing of prescription requests in both electronic and paper formats, maintaining effective communication with colleagues, patients, pharmacies, and external healthcare providers, and ensuring all actions comply with current practice policies and procedures. The role requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism at all times.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Support safe prescribing by handling the technical and administrative aspects of prescription preparation and issuance.
* Provide efficient administrative support to ensure smooth prescription services for clinicians. Manage prescription enquiries from patients, clinicians, external organisations, and colleagues across all communication channels.
* Carry out general administrative tasks, including post handling, scanning, document processing, read coding, photocopying, and mail distribution.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support service delivery as directed by the Line Manager.
