Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a crucial role in the senior leadership team. Your responsibilities will include:
Curriculum Leadership:
1. Leading and managing specific areas of the curriculum, such as pastoral care, data analysis, or teaching and learning.
2. Ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the school.
3. Collaborating with other senior leaders to develop and implement effective strategies.
Inclusion and Student Support:
4. Focusing on inclusion and student well-being.
5. Supporting students with diverse needs and backgrounds.
6. Deputising for the Headteacher when necessary.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
7. Leading assessment practices and tracking student progress.
8. Using data to inform decision-making and improve oues.
Whole-School Responsibilities:
9. Participating in line management meetings.
10. Conducting learning walks and providing feedback.
11. Being available “on call” for urgent matters.
12. Contributing to whole-school strategies and development.
Other Duties:
13. Assisting with out-of-hours activities and events.
14. Maintaining a visible presence around the school.
15. Fulfilling reasonable expectations from the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, anderning Body3.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should have:
16. Teaching Experience:
You must be an experienced primary teacher with a broad understanding of the primary age range.
17. Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly in curriculum development and team management.
18. Inclusion Focus:
Amitment to promoting inclusion and supporting students with diverse needs.
19. Assessment Expertise:
Proficiency in assessing pupils’ progress and using data effectively.
