A secondary school in the south Manchester area is seeking several Learning Support Assistants to join their SEN department, supporting students who require additional assistance, starting at the beginning of the new academic year in September.
The ideal candidates will have experience in providing in-class support as part of a school team; however, this is not essential. Prior experience in educational settings such as youth work, support work, or mentoring is highly desirable.
The successful educators should be confident working with students aged 11 to 16 across various subjects. There may also be opportunities to support smaller groups or individual students, depending on your subject specialism.
Key highlights of the Learning Support Assistant role:
1. Earn up to £1850 per month, depending on hours worked
2. Start date: Thursday, 4th September 2025
3. Assist within the classroom under the teacher's direction and provide 1-to-1 support outside the classroom
4. Work across all subjects with a diverse range of students, including those with SEN, gifted and talented students, and those needing additional support
5. Support specific students identified as requiring extra help
Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in similar roles, such as working with students requiring behavioral support or intervention, is highly desirable. Candidates interested in pursuing a career in education, with confidence, adaptability, and motivation, are encouraged to apply.
The school is located centrally in South Manchester, easily accessible from Stockport, Burnage, Cheadle, Bramhall, and Reddish Vale. It is well-connected via local transport links, especially suitable for candidates in Wythenshawe or Altrincham/Sale areas. The school also has a large, secure on-site car park for those driving.
