Job Description:
We are seeking commercially minded Engineers, preferably with experience in the pumps industry. Our principal consultant Robin Thomas has an exciting opportunity to join a UK-based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and systems, serving customers globally.
The Commercial & Process Engineer is a newly created role designed to optimize end-to-end commercial processes.
You will review customer enquiries, prepare detailed techno-commercial quotes, and handle forecasting and order processing using systems like Dolphin and Salesforce.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Dolphin team to implement and develop the Dolphin tool for selection, configuration, pricing, quotation, and forecasting.
* Review customer enquiries to assess project suitability and prepare technical and commercial quotations via Dolphin.
* Promote the use of Salesforce within the Business Unit.
* Obtain supplier quotations for accurate equipment costing.
* Provide technical support to customers pre-order.
* Assist the Sales team during bid evaluations and attend customer meetings as needed.
* Develop processes for contract review, order entry, and documentation using Dolphin and ECOF.
* Support manufacturing with technical queries during production.
* Manage invoicing, credit/debit notes, and resolve invoice issues promptly.
* Liaise with customers on specifications, testing, and delivery.
* Coordinate with production to meet delivery requirements.
* Participate in departmental and production meetings.
Skills & Experience
* Customer-focused with ability to work under pressure.
* Engineering knowledge, preferably in the pumps industry.
* Proficient in Excel, Word, and IT systems.
* Experience in pump selection, operation, and system interaction.
* Knowledge of pump applications in the Fire industry.
* Experience with technical documentation and contract negotiations.
