Overview
School Site Assistant / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant required to work in the Birmingham area.
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-15:30pm
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Weeks: Immediate Start, ongoing
Responsibilities
* Provide portering services, including setting up classrooms and event spaces, moving furniture, and assisting with deliveries.
* Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, plumbing and equipment.
* Liaise with contractors and escort them around the site.
* Support the upkeep of the swimming pool, including water testing, routine cleaning, and assisting with plant room checks (training will be provided if required).
* Carry out safety and maintenance checks on school minibuses and other site vehicles, ensuring they remain roadworthy and compliant.
* Ensure the security of the school\'s premises and grounds, locking at the appropriate times, closing of windows and setting of alarms. Unlocking and locking up the school site as well as individual departments. Key holding responsibility.
* Assist with lettings, bookings, set up of equipment and grounds supervision of evening/weekend meetings and after school activities.
* Maintain outdoor areas to ensure a safe and tidy school environment - litter picking, grounds maintenance, etc.
* Empty bins / rubbish removal.
* Report any health and safety issues/concerns to the site manager.
About you
* Experience in general maintenance, caretaking, or site support work.
* Good understanding of COSHH awareness and Health and Safety knowledge.
* Full UK driving licence (D1 entitlement desirable).
* Holds an ENHANCED Child DBS in date within the last 12 months, or an ENHANCED DBS on the update service.
* Must have safeguarding training - BlueArrow can provide this if required.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
