Job Overview
Flexibility to travel as this role covers various DWP sites within the Southeast London DWP Area. A full UK driving licence is required.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
* Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
* Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
* Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
* Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security‑related matter.
* Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
* Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative; immediately involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry promptly after any incident to support the Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
* Previous security experience.
* Full UK driving licence.
* DS Licence (preferred).
