As part of this, they are seeking an exceptional Managing Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a £22m flagship scheme in Kensington .
The Role This is a senior, project-leading commercial role with a clear pathway into a full Commercial Manager position as the scheme progresses.
You will have day-to-day commercial ownership of the project while also mentoring and developing an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and a Project Quantity Surveyor, providing leadership and guidance rather than simply task management.
The role involves close collaboration with the owners, project delivery team, and senior commercial stakeholders, offering both autonomy and influence rarely found at this level.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Leadership £22m Scheme
Full commercial responsibility for a complex super-prime project in Kensington
Cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial risk management
Managing procurement strategy and subcontractor packages
Valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts
Ensuring commercial performance aligns with project and business objectives
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Mentoring and developing an AQS and Project QS
Providing guidance on best practice, commercial strategy, and professional development
Reviewing outputs and supporting progression within the commercial team
Strategic & Business Involvement
Working closely with the owners and senior management on commercial strategy
Supporting continuous improvement of commercial systems and processes
Contributing to longer-term commercial planning and resourcing

Candidate Profile Proven experience as a Managing QS or Senior Quantity Surveyor on high-value projects (£15m+)
Background in super-prime, high-end residential, or complex refurbishment
Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
Confident leader capable of mentoring and developing junior and mid-level QSs
Comfortable working directly with owners in an entrepreneurial, quality-driven environment
