Our NHS client is looking for a locum Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their NHS service team based in Petersfield, Hampshire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full time hours. As this is a band 5 position, our client will also welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists as well as experienced candidates.
The appointed Occupational Therapist will manage a caseload of service users with mental health needs, using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in the hospital setting and on home visits.
Therapist’s applying for this role must have:
1. HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
2. A relevant degree/qualification within Occupational Therapy
3. Knowledge of specialist equipment
4. Experience of working within a similar NHS setting
5. Good communication skills
6. The ability to think outside the box
Duties within this role will include:
7. Managing a clinical caseload
8. Writing accurate and detailed reports on patient progress
9. Working as part as a multidisciplinary team
10. Discharge planning
11. Assessments and provision of hoists and slings
12. Devising care plans with family members and/or carers
13. Develop rehabilitation programs to help rebuild lost skills and restore lost confidence
