About the role
Royal Caribbean Group Marine Operations are looking for 9 Workforce Planning Schedulers to join our UK office located in Weybridge. Please be aware that we can only consider candidates based in the UK with full right to work.
Position Summary
The Workforce Planning Scheduler will carry out workforce planning and logistics for Marine Operations, following operational guidelines and directives from Marine Operations and department leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedule crew assignments and rotation planning for the Marine department.
2. Provide information supporting an effective par level planning process and related procedures.
3. Design and implement optimized solutions for fleet needs pertaining to the Marine cost center.
4. Ensure effective communication with Marine operations, department leadership, fellow team members, and crew members in areas related to scheduling, succession planning, recruitment, and logistics as appropriate.
5. Comply with applicable rules and regulations including but not limited to SQM, flag state and port state legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies in all aspects relating to workforce planning.
6. Provide complete and accurate employee data in the Human Resources system for assigned departments and/or positions, including performance data for succession planning.
7. Perform related duties as assigned and other duties as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
1. Knowledge of automated human resources and workforce planning systems preferred.
2. Education from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
3. Previous professional experience in workforce planning, analytics, scheduling, and logistics services.
4. Ability to determine the necessary sequence of activities and the efficient level of resources required to achieve long-term goals.
5. Proven ability to apply optimization techniques in domains such as inventory optimization and crew planning.
6. Ability to evaluate problematic situations and create resolutions based on planning and reasoning, using logic, judgment, and data.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, capable of making informed decisions based on available information.
8. Quick learner with the ability to apply knowledge, skills, and judgment effectively.
9. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating data into practical solutions or process improvements.
10. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with a multinational environment, including department heads, managers, coworkers, and shipboard employees.
11. Proficiency in reading and writing English to understand procedures, give and receive instructions, and present information effectively.
12. Working knowledge of shipboard functions on a cruise ship and the general concept of shipboard organization.
13. Understanding of immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers in various regions.
14. Knowledge of flag state and port state regulations concerning seafarers' training, licenses, and certifications.
