Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repairing and maintaining various types of vehicles (cars & vans only). This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
Duties
* Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre changes, and brake checks.
* Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Repair or replace faulty parts and components as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
* Collaborate with other team members to improve service efficiency and quality.
* Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive sector.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
* Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
* A valid driver's licence is preferred; additional qualifications such as an NVQ or City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering are advantageous.
