About the Role
Connex Education is partnering with a primary school in the Middlesbrough area to find a passionate and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a vital role in children’s earliest educational experiences, supporting their development during the Foundation Stage. If you hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have a genuine love for working with young children, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Setting
You will be joining a warm, welcoming team in a school that places early childhood development at the heart of everything it does. Working closely with the class teacher and EYFS lead, you will help deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences in a stimulating and inclusive environment where every child is supported to thrive.
Assignment Details
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday. You will work within the EYFS setting to support the class teacher and help children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception and/or Nursery). The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
* EYFS or Nursery/Reception classroom support
* Supporting early communication, language, and literacy development
* Play-based learning and child-led activities
* Supporting children with additional needs or SEND in an early years context
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this role. Experience in an EYFS, Nursery, or Reception setting is highly desirable. This is an ongoing role with an immediate start.
Person Specification
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification — essential
* Understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
* Able to support children both 1:1 and within small groups under teacher direction
* Nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to early years education
* Previous experience in an EYFS, Nursery, or Reception setting — desirable
* Current DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one
