A new opportunity has arisen at London Road Surgery for the position of a pharmacist. This is a new role and sits outside of the ARRS. We are looking for a full-time qualified and experienced clinical pharmacist who has a prescribing qualification to join our busy practice and to work on site alongside our clinicians. We are moving to Total Triage in June 2025.
London Road Surgery has 14,200 patients and modern, well-equipped premises built in 2017, offering an excellent working environment with free car parking. We are close to Wickford High Street and Wickford Station.
Main duties of the job
* Clinically assessing and treating patients, using expert knowledge of medicines, for specific disease areas.
* Providing specialist expertise in the use of medicines and medicine information (i.e., side-effects, dosage) across the practice.
* Providing pharmaceutical medication reviews and health education advice to patients via face-to-face, telephone, or notes-based review, as agreed with the practice.
* Providing leadership on person-centred medicines optimisation and quality improvement.
* Contributing to public health campaigns, including flu vaccinations, childhood immunisation, and adult immunisation programmes.
* Acting as a key contact in the practice for all medication-related queries.
* Supporting improvements in clinical care through practice-based audits and implementing change.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified pharmacist with significant experience, current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Experience
* Confident in the use of electronic records and systems; databases and spreadsheets.
* NMP
* Diploma in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice.
* Leadership activities in previous work.
* Evidence of a consistent pattern of learning from education, training, and experience.
