Connect it Utility Services Limited is a multi-utilities connection business that provides mains and service connections across the South of England. We offer a technologically advanced, dedicated, and comprehensive team that consistently delivers an exceptional multi-utility service for our customers. To build on our success, we are looking to expand our Commercial team by recruiting a Quantity Surveyor.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial aspects of various new and ongoing projects, including applications, invoices, contract change control, account management, supply chain management, procurement, business costs, and other commercial and contract documentation.
You must be keen to develop your experience beyond traditional methods and embrace technology. You should understand the duties and processes involved with other members of the commercial team and be able to assist and mentor other teams as required. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial understanding and apply your skills.
Key Skills:
1. Collation, calculation, coordination, and reporting on the value of costs across project portfolios.
2. Manage and administer post-contract changes and variations.
3. Process invoice values from the variation log, monthly invoicing, and asset value claims.
4. Manage project QS activities on major works projects, including monthly applications and day-to-day contract management.
5. Process internal and external cost information to ensure correct allocation to cost headings.
6. Raise subcontracts and advise the wider commercial team on procurement and rate management.
7. Manage and administer subcontract and supplier processes.
8. Track invoice payments and timelines.
9. Assist with all general commercial work and develop processes for audit and ISO compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated in Quantity Surveying to at least NVQ/HNC level.
* Ideally, a background in civils, utilities, or highways.
* Relevant commercial experience in similar contracting activities.
* Experience in building relationships with service providers and company partners, including executives and senior managers.
* Good attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
* Strong analytical skills for managing, collating, and storing data effectively.
* Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Driven, proactive, and able to see changes through to delivery.
Additional Skills:
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
* Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
* Experience with accounting and customer service software and applications.
