Overview
We have an exciting opportunity within our Product Design team as Senior CAD & Jewellery Designer. In this position you will be hands-on progressing projects from conceptual stages through to design delivery. You will collaborate with the wider Product Design team to design best-in-class products to increase our positioning in the market as an affordable luxury brand. You will work directly with the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager to deliver jewellery ranges, on time and to budget. You will lead product development, including the creative development and brand styling, managing projects from start to finish. You will use your knowledge in specialist design software to lead the making of 3D CAD models for new jewellery and accessory concepts. You will manage junior team members to deliver products and packaging that support company objectives, keeping abreast of industry trends. The role is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm with office presence in Banbury, Oxfordshire three days a week on average and flexibility to work from home for the remaining two days.

Responsibilities
* Drive the brand forward in jewellery product design, maintaining and increasing positioning as an affordable luxury brand
* Design on-brand, innovative products and concepts using targeted research, trend anticipation and an understanding of brand heritage
* Lead the creation of 3D CAD models for jewellery and accessories designs
* Mentor Midweight and Junior Designers to ensure clear project communication and enhance CAD knowledge (Matrix)
* Own work from concept to delivery, providing technical specifications and liaising with factories to ensure high quality and consistent delivery
* Collaborate with Buying to ensure on-target product timing and pricing
* Ensure end-to-end delivery of all jewellery and accessories
* Check and guide the team’s work for high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Verify samples against specs and adjust based on sign-off from Creative Director and Senior Design Manager
* Own spec sheet sign-off for designs, mentoring and managing Junior Designers to deliver first-time-right specs and samples
* Proactively implement and improve design processes to benefit the team
* Utilise Adobe Creative Suite to create final visuals and range plans
* Use Matrix Gold CAD software to finalise CAD files for all jewellery samples
* Monitor competitors in jewellery, gifting, fashion accessories and personalisation, sharing findings monthly
* Maintain understanding of the brand development strategy to deliver projects on time
* Collaborate with Senior Packaging Designer to innovate new concepts
* Mentor and manage junior team members, representing the brand and inspiring the team
* Set design standards and develop systems to optimise the design process while maximizing team potential
* Prepare daily/weekly reports to the Senior Design Manager on project status
* Develop and drive new personalisation offerings and coordinate with relevant teams for successful implementation
* Present concepts to the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager and communicate progress to keep projects on track
* Maintain critical paths to a high standard
* Collaborate with other teams and departments as needed on product-related knowledge
* Support with other brands owned by the company
* Other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Company
The Talent You’ll Bring
* Design qualification preferably in jewellery, fashion, CAD or product design with a passion for fashion and lifestyle products
* 2-3 years experience in mid-weight or higher in product design, preferably within jewellery, fashion and accessories, with a track record of delivering from concept to final product
* Experience in jewellery product design from ideation to creation
* Proven ability to manage processes and people to deliver high-quality products on deadlines
* Experience coaching and mentoring others to enhance junior team performance
* Strong visual communication skills and proficiency in Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
* Advanced knowledge of Matrix Gold CAD software
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* High accuracy in written communication and numeracy
* Experience in fast-paced, confidential environments with integrity
* Ability to work pro-actively within a team and take initiative to work autonomously
* Positive, can-do attitude and excellent team-working skills
