Job Details
We are currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop at EDGE INNOVATE. The successful candidate will manage the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise daily operations of the paint shop team, providing guidance on all paint shop activities (blasting, prepping, painting, repairs, etc.).
2. Coach and mentor team members to develop skills and improve performance.
3. Estimate painting times, staffing, and costs to optimize production efficiency.
4. Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods, ensuring health, safety, and quality standards are met.
5. Plan workspace utilization and conduct quality checks before and after jobs.
6. Minimize rework and ensure production targets are met, reporting progress to the Production Manager.
7. Coordinate with management regarding capabilities and schedules to facilitate production.
8. Monitor performance to establish standard rates and improve efficiencies.
9. Streamline purchasing to reduce costs and improve inventory management.
Performance and People Management
Apply the company's performance management system, set KPIs, and support staff development. Lead by example to foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Financial and Resource Management
Ensure the Paint Shop operates efficiently within financial targets and seek innovative solutions for service improvements.
Health & Safety and General Management
Uphold health and safety policies, promote equality, and ensure compliance with legal and company standards. Participate in staff recruitment, discipline, and training as needed.
Person Specification
* Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry.
* Hands-on painting experience with heavy machinery.
* Leadership skills, strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office and computer skills.
* Flexible working hours.
This role requires a proactive leader committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
