Job Description:
The QHSE Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems at a Middlesbrough-based site. Reporting into the Group QHSE Manager, you will ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards while driving continuous improvement across the business.
As a QHSE Engineer, you will manage the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, carry out site inspections and audits, investigate incidents and near misses, and deliver safety training and toolbox talks. You will also oversee environmental compliance, including waste management and sustainability initiatives, alongside quality assurance activities such as internal audits, supplier engagement, and customer feedback management.
You will compile QHSE performance data, produce KPI reports for senior management, liaise with regulatory and certification bodies, and ensure all documentation remains accurate, compliant, and accessible. This role offers autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact at site level.
Skills & experience:
Proven experience in a QHSE Engineer role within manufacturing or a similar environment
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Confident delivering training and influencing site-based stakeholders
Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience advantageous
