Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Roadmap
2. Define and maintain the product roadmap for defence electronics (e.g. mission computers, platform comms electronics, sensors, C2 electronics).
3. Align product direction with defence capability requirements, platform roadmaps, and long‑term support strategies.
4. Develop products with unique selling points while addressing emerging technology trends (AI, open architectures, modular electronics) relevant to defence platforms.
5. Market Research and Opportunity Identification
6. Define target customer segments and map ecosystems to establish strong market links.
7. Conduct thorough analysis of total addressable markets (TAM) and segment‑specific growth projections (CAGR).
8. Report on relevant market trends and competitive landscapes across various sectors.
9. Deliver clear financial projections encompassing revenue, costs, and expected profit margins over a three‑year horizon.
10. Go‑to‑Market (GTM) Strategy Development
11. Design strategies to effectively introduce products to target markets, employing diverse marketing channels and sales strategies.
12. Cultivate strategic channel‑based partnerships and relationships to magnify market reach.
13. Identify and monitor emerging electronics technologies relevant to defence platforms (e.g. AI accelerators, open‑architecture electronics, advanced sensors, secure processors).
14. Establish early technical engagement with technology providers prior to formal programme insertion.
15. Channel Strategy Development
16. Define the go‑to‑market strategy for channel partners.
17. Identify target markets and partner profiles (distributors, resellers, system integrators).
18. Align channel strategy with overall product roadmap and business objectives and defence capabilities needs.
19. Product Development Lifecycle Management
20. Collaborate with development teams to articulate comprehensive product roadmaps that align with strategic objectives.
21. Evaluate technology readiness levels (TRL) and identify areas requiring additional R&D investment.
22. Forge commercial partnerships with industry stakeholders.
23. Technical Feasibility Studies
24. Assess the resource requirements for product development, including skilled labour and manufacturing capabilities.
25. Evaluate the product's scalability potential to ensure it meets growing customer demands and market expansion.
26. Comprehensive Risk Assessment
27. Identify any potential operational barriers, including regulatory approvals and customer adoption issues.
28. Evaluate competitive risks, including threats from existing players and new market entrants.
29. Analyze customer demand fluctuations and market variations that may impact overall projections.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Engineering, or a related field is required.
7 years of experience in defence, aerospace, or high‑reliability electronics systems.
Proven experience in product management, particularly in managing electronics or embedded systems on defence platforms, is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to travel on short notice for business needs.
