Cemeteries Manager

South East Employers (Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead) – full‑time, permanent position located in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Salary: £37,526 – £41,613 per annum.

The role involves implementing council policies for efficient cemetery management, day‑to‑day maintenance, supervisory duties, and ensuring statutory compliance and sensitive support for bereaved families.


Key Responsibilities

* Implement council policies and standards for efficient, effective cemetery management.
* Day‑to‑day management and maintenance of cemetery services, including supervision under the Grounds Maintenance Contract.
* Ensure statutory requirements are met and bereaved families’ needs are sensitively managed.
* Communicate and liaise with residents, councillors, users and external organisations.
* Identify and implement improvements in service delivery.


Required Qualifications

* GCSE English language and Maths.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* High interpersonal sensitivity and empathy.
* Excellent communication skills and positive working relationships with residents, community groups and contractors.
* Ability to develop and manage strong, effective partnerships.
* Good negotiation skills.
