Sparsholt College Hampshire is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering to join our successful and growing agriculture department. You will become part of an experienced, supportive teaching team and play a key role in delivering and developing high-quality land-based engineering programmes.
The role đą
You will be responsible for teaching, tutoring and assessing learners across a range of agricultural engineering subjects, delivering learning in both classroom and practical environments.
Our broad curriculum includes:
â˘Land-based engineering qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3
â˘Agricultural engineering elements embedded within agriculture programmes
You will work closely with the Farm and Workshop teams to plan engaging, relevant learning that fully utilises our exceptional resources throughout the academic and agricultural year.
A genuine passion for inspiring young people and supporting them to achieve their goals within the land-based sector is essential.
Suitable candidates should have the following:
Essential:
â˘Level 3 or higher qualification in agricultural engineering/fabrication welding or similar
â˘Minimum of 3 yearsâ experience working in agricultural engineering
â˘GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent
â˘Ability to apply working knowledge of theory and practical to a teaching environment
â˘Commitment to continuous professional development
â˘Willingness to undertake Level 5 teacher training if not already qualified
â˘Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
â˘Ability to use Microsoft Office
â˘Well organised and able to work under pressure
Desirable but not essential as vocational skills and a desire to inspire are far more important:
-Recognised teaching qualification
-Previous teaching/training experience
-D1 minibus licence
-Previous assessing skills/qualifications
