An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly team and help shape the future of our pharmacy services at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals.
Role Summary
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care on the wards. You will ensure accurate medication reconciliation, manage Patients’ Own Medication, and support one‑stop dispensing.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform medicines reconciliation and take drug histories to guarantee patients receive correct medications from admission.
* Ensure appropriate use of Patient’s Own Medication and promote one‑stop dispensing.
* Distribute time‑to‑take (TTO) medications prior to discharge to streamline patient experiences.
* Communicate effectively with community healthcare partners to support a seamless continuum of care.
* Operate as an accredited checking technician (ACPT) with regular checking slots in the dispensary.
* Collaborate with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services and other pharmacy team members to manage ward medicines, audit projects and financial savings initiatives.
* Participate in late duty, bank holiday and weekend rotas, and provide a seven‑day service.
* Cover cross‑site duties, including leave cover and weekend/bank holiday work, to meet service needs.
