About the Role
Academics are currently recruiting an Inclusion Practitioner to work within a prison education setting, supporting learners with a wide range of additional needs to access education, training, and personal development opportunities.
This is a rewarding role for an experienced inclusion professional who is passionate about equality, rehabilitation, and second chances, and who can build positive, professional relationships within a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support learners with SEND, SEMH, learning difficulties, and barriers to education
Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies and resources
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
Contribute to individual learning plans and progress reviews
Liaise with prison staff, education teams, and external agencies
Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and prison protocols
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working in an education, inclusion, or support role
A strong understanding of inclusive practice and learner engagement
Confidence working with challenging behaviour in a structured setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, resilient, and professional approach
The ability to work within strict safeguarding and security procedures
