Buyer Responsible to: Head of Buying/Buying Director Department. Location: JD Sports Fashion plc, Hollinsbrook way, Pilsworth, Bury, BL9 8RR.
Responsibilities
* Represent the Buying function on relevant fascia and category (to be confirmed).
* Attend all appointments, participating in selection and editing of product.
* Attend all product launches throughout the year as specified.
* Attend all relevant trade shows.
* Analyze and review previous week’s sales with the merchandising department to propose and drive actions for the week ahead.
* Negotiate with selected brands on trading terms and conditions.
* Stay constantly aware of new brands and opportunities to diversify and drive department/category sales.
* Negotiate budget and plan within internal teams and external brands.
* Negotiate with brands on distribution agreements.
* Work independently in a creative and trend-led environment.
* Manage budgets and OTB for in-season and forward budgets.
* Present ranges for sign-off with Senior Buyers, Buying Director and Merchandising Director.
* Prepare and present performance in trade meetings.
* Propose initiatives to assist driving sales in your relevant department.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge Needed
* Experience of buying Sports Fashion is advantageous.
* Experience of buying branded goods is essential.
* Strong understanding and knowledge of current and upcoming sports fashion trends at high street and premium level price point.
* Ability to exercise a high degree of analytical and numerical skills.
* Fully literate in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
* Organisational skills are essential.
* Ability to work under own initiative.
* A creative and trend-led individual.
