An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner with to work within the field of Ear, Nose and Throat at UHNM.
The applicant will be expected to support the department in development of innovative pathways for ENT by learning key ENT skills such as nasendoscopy, ear examination and suctioning and management of ENT emergency casualty clinic patients. This will be supported by the consultant workforce. Prior possession of these skills is desirable but non essential as they will be learned in the role
UHNM has an established group of Advanced Clinical Practitioners and there is positive peer support as well as support from the Senior Divisional Nursing Team and Consultant body within the Specialised Division. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and drive forward significant changes within the specialities.
We are looking for an innovative and forward thinking team member that will challenge traditional ways of working, and seek to enhance clinical care and deliver an excellent patient experience. You will work alongside the acute medical team and exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgment, discretion and decision-making in clinical care.
We will consider applications for aspiring ACP's based on their knowledge and a skills and appoint at Band 7 level if the right candidate for the role.
The advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) provides advanced clinical practice as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team within their speciality at the University Hospital of North Midlands.
The definition of Advanced Clinical Practice as stated by Health Education England (2017) is “ delivered by experienced, registered health and care practitioners. It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This is underpinned by a master’s level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competence.”
The ACP Has a Trust-wide Responsibility To Provide Clinical Excellence Through The Four Pillars Of Advanced Clinical Practice. The Clinical Practice Pillar Accounts For a Minimum Of 80% Of Their Contracted Hours Of Work And They Practice With a Significant Higher Level Of Responsibility And Autonomy Which Is Comparable To That Of The Level Of Medical Staff Providing The Same Level Of Service
You will provide advanced clinical skills and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of the client group. The remit of the post is to assess patients and formulate treatment plans with the establishment medical team and nursing staff. You will be a non-medical prescriber.
