These posts are fixed term for 15 months. Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking to appoint a number of committed and enthusiastic Transport Safety Officers accredited under a Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) who will be trained and vetted to NPPV2. The role aims to increase the safety and security across the bus public transport network for both service users and providers. The scheme empowers the officers as accredited individuals to deter anti-social behaviour and increase the confidence of the public in these areas. Carrying out highly visible patrols, officers will be expected to engage and challenge any individuals or groups causing ASB or criminality including the use of accredited enforcement powers and working with policing colleagues. As part of a team, operational working requirements will be on a rota. The hours will include early starts and evening work on a rotational basis and likely working one in three weekends.
