We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Policy Adviser to join our Policy team, playing a pivotal role in shaping services to ensure the wellbeing of our residents, visitors and businesses across Solihull. You will lead on the development of the council plan and contribute to place-based strategy development and public service reform, working collaboratively with strategic leaders, colleagues, neighbouring councils and the Local Government Association. You will confidently provide advice, insights and perspectives to senior Council members including the Leader, Cabinet and Corporate Leadership Team, using your excellent negotiation and influencing skills to ensure consensus and inform ongoing policy development. You will have: A degree level qualification (or equivalent) Significant experience of policy development in a local authority or other public sector setting. Experience of providing advice to senior leaders Experience of developing written policy briefings and presenting complex information to a range of audiences. The ability to manage a complex, varied and demanding workload and to consistently produce high quality work.
