EduTalent Group is collaborating with a specialist independent school in West Sussex to recruit a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Computing Teacher. This role involves delivering and developing the computing curriculum across Key Stages 2 to 4 including qualifications up to GCSE and BTEC within a nurturing environment tailored to students with special educational needs.

This position is ideal for an educator passionate about integrating digital literacy and internet safety into the curriculum ensuring students are equipped with essential computing skills while fostering a safe online presence.

Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement a comprehensive computing curriculum that is ambitious broad balanced relevant and differentiated.

* Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that addresses the unique needs of learners with SEND.

* Plan resource and deliver engaging lessons across the school including accredited courses and qualifications up to GCSE and BTEC levels.

* Develop evaluate and revise schemes of work and subject syllabuses to meet individual student needs.

* Monitor student progress utilising data to set and achieve targets in computing.

* Provide quality feedback to students to facilitate rapid and sustained progress.

* Ensure students achieve at or above their chronological age level or make significant progress towards this goal.

* Set individual learning targets for all students.

* Maintain high standards of behaviour for learning across the school.

* Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress sanctions rewards and other relevant information.

* Promote enrichment and extracurricular activities related to computing.

* Foster a strong school community reflective of key values.

* Develop a culture committed to high achievement focusing on student learning.

* Collaborate with students staff and parents to promote excellent behaviour for learning and respectful relationships.

* Manage the computing budget in line with financial regulations and procedures.

* Undertake professional development and appraisal activities.

* Oversee the ordering maintenance and accountability for teaching and learning resources within the department.

* Ensure the care of computing classrooms and related spaces including furnishings and fittings.

* Implement and monitor the schools Health and Safety policy including conducting appropriate risk assessments.

* Maintain inspiring displays of student work in computing classrooms and corridors updating them regularly.

* Maintain and regularly update the department inventory of equipment conducting annual audits.

* Undertake other responsibilities as directed by the Management Group.



Requirements

Essential:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

* Experience teaching computing to students aged 7 19.

* Proficiency in ICT and effective behaviour management.

* Ability to support learners with SEND.

* Skilled in analysing computing progress data.

* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice.

* Awareness of National Curriculum requirements at least two key stages.

* Understanding of how to set and monitor challenging targets.

* Knowledge of filtering and monitoring systems.

* Up-to-date knowledge of digital literacy best practices to teach learners how to stay safe online.

* Completed training in online safety.

* Knowledge of SEND including Cognition and Learning Communication and Interaction Social Emotional and Mental Health and Sensory and Physical needs.
