Barker Munro Recruitment have an interesting new role within a specialist insurer who are seeking candidates with some experience within an underwriting team who is looking to further their insurance career.
The role is varied and involves supporting both the insurance and our data teams. A large part of this role is to underwrite niche property related insurance cases that arise from their online system. This system holds a facility that offers “bespoke insurance” and so the enquiries that fall to the Customer Team are more interesting than the referrals some competitors may see.
The insurance is related to properties which are either continued use in nature or, properties which have planning permission for new construction or a change of use. Cases largely fall within a sum insured of £10million but the team can write within larger limits - subject to authorisation from the Underwriting Team.
We can consider candidates with at least 1 years exposure to underwriting. Property or household risks would be an advantage. This role requires you to work in the office 2 days a week although you can work more days if you wish.
