Marketing Manager– publications
Role Overview
The Marketing Manageris responsible fordeveloping and executing marketing strategies that drivesubscription growth, audience engagement, and customer retentionfor ourpublications: taking the lead on Inside Housing, while supporting the marketing executives onour other titles and client solution projects.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management
* Planandexecutemulti-channel campaigns to drive subscription acquisitionand audienceengagement, including email, PPC,social media campaignsand advertising.
* Coordinate marketingcontent and activityaligned withkeyeditorialcontent, industry events,sector topicality.
* Selectand segmentdata in CRM to create targeted email campaigns.
* Developthe customer journeyto improve conversion,includingcreatingoptimisedlanding pages to support marketingefforts.
* Use A/B testing,experimentationand personalisationto improveperformance.
* Identifyopportunities to apply AI and automation to improve marketing effectiveness.
* Ensure marketing reflects the publication’s brand and authority within the industry.
Audience Acquisitionand subscriber retention
* Identifyand develop strategies toacquirenew leads in key audience segments andgainnew subscribers.
* Monitor and deploy the best mix ofacquisition channels such asemail marketing, advertising, social media, PPC, partnerships and eventsfor lead genand subscriber engagement.
* Develop targeted campaignsand messagingfor specificICPs.
* Create,amendand optimiseweb pages to support lead gen campaigns and reader engagement.
* Manage renewaland onboardingcampaigns,and subscriber communications,identifyingareas for improvement as needed.
* Leverageopportunities for cross-sellingor increasedengagementviaotherOMGpublications,eventsandpremium content.
Reporting and Performance Tracking
* Manage the publication marketing budget, keeping a record of costs and working within budget.
* Manage trackingand analysis ofcampaign performance across all marketing channelsincluding metrics such as subscription acquisitionby source, conversion rates, cost per acquisition (CPA),renewaland retention rates.
* Use analytics tools toidentifytrends and optimisation opportunitiesegAffino, Clarity, GA, AI.
* Assess,monitorand improve marketing performanceby conducting regular analysis of results.
* Prepare weekly reporting for the senior management team on subscription renewals and acquisitions against targets, along with progress on marketing activity.
AI and Marketing Innovation
* UseAItoidentifydata opportunities for audience growthfromacross the OMG portfolio.
* Use AIfor audience insightsto maximiseengagementwith OMG publicationsand marketing content.
* Ensure responsible and compliant use of AI tools in line with company policies, data protection regulations, and brand guidelines.
* Workwith the publication teams to createnew approachesto maximise audience engagement.
* Test and optimise marketing approachesincluding but not limited toA/B testing,audience segmentation,freetrialsand incentives.
* Stay informed on emergingmarketingtools, AIuseand relevant marketing best practiceincluding SEO and AI search.
Teammanagement and stakeholder engagement
* Manage and develop the publication marketing team, advising on the implementation of the marketing strategy and activity, ensuringtimely,quality output.
* Brief the data teamon data requirements,identifyeffectiveaudience segmentsand support database growth.
* Support the corporate subscription customer service teamfor renewals and corporate subscription upgrades.
* Liaise with the editorial team on forthcoming content for subscriber engagement marketing and lead gen activity.
* Work with the digital teamto develop marketing areas on the websites and online triggers such as digital access/promotion codes and lead capture forms.
* Work with the finance team to co-ordinate subscription sales reporting and alignment on marketing costs.
* Share best practice with the wider marketing teamand support activity across OMG events.
* Support the sales team,and the marketing team deliveringon client solutions as needed.
Skills and Experience
Marketing Expertise
* Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
* Strong understanding ofB2Bsubscription models.
* Demonstrable experienceofusing insights toinformmarketingstrategy and tactics.
Analytical and Reporting Skills
* Ability to analyse campaign performance and translate insights into actions.
* Experience using analytics and reporting tools.
* Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
Digital Marketing Skills
* Experience with email marketing and automation platforms– ideallyAffinoandDotdigital.
* Familiarity with paid media, SEO,websiteandconversion optimisation.
* Ability to create marketing assets an advantage usingCanva and video editing.
Communication and Collaboration
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with editorial,customer serviceand digitalteams.
* Experience managing external agencies or marketing partners.
